Google Pixel 9Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL were launched on Tuesday. The flagship smartphones come with the new Tensor G4 SoC along with Titan M2 security chip. All three phones are IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. They are confirmed to get seven years of Android OS updates, security patches and pixel drops. The Pixel 9 has 12GB of RAM, while the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL have 16GB of RAM. The vanilla variant has dual rear cameras, while the other two have triple rear cameras.

The Pixel 9 is priced at Rs 79,999 for the sole 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. It is offered in peony, porcelain, obsidian and wintergreen colors. While there is also a 128GB variant, it will not be sold in the country.

The Pixel 9 lineup will be available from August 22 via Flipkart, Croma and Reliance Digital retail outlets.

The dual SIM (Nano+eSIM) Pixel 9 runs Android 14 with seven years of OS updates, security patches, and Pixel drops. It features a 6.3-inch (1,080 x 2,424 pixels) Actua OLED display with 422ppi pixel density, up to 2,700nits peak brightness, and 60Hz to 120Hz refresh rate support. The screen also has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 covered. It is equipped with Tensor G4 SoC with Titan M2 security co-processor.

The camera unit comes equipped with several AI features including Magic Eraser, Best Take, Photo Unblur and Night Sight. It can record 4K videos at 24/30/60 frames per second.

Pixel 9 comes with IP68 water and dust resistance rating. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, dual band GNSS, BeiDou, GLONASS, QZSS, NavIC, and a USB Type-C port. The Pixel 9 packs a 4,700mAh battery with 45W (charging brick will be sold separately) wired fast charging support and Qi-certified wireless charging support. It is claimed that the wired charging technology can charge the battery from zero to 55 percent in about 30 minutes. The handset is said to offer more than 24 hours of battery life on a single charge. Its measurement is 152.8×72.0x8.5 mm and weight is 198 grams.

The Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL models have the same SIM, software and chipset as the Pixel 9. The Pixel 9 Pro features a 6.3-inch (1280 x 2856) Super Actua (LTPO) OLED display with 495ppi pixel density, 3,000 nits peak brightness, and variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. The Pixel 9 Pro XL features a 6.8-inch (1,344 x 2,992) Super Actua (LTPO) OLED display with 486ppi pixel density, 120Hz refresh rate, and 3,000 nits peak brightness. Both models include Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

Both the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL feature a triple rear camera unit, which includes a 50-megapixel MP Octa PD wide camera, a 48-megapixel Quad PD ultrawide camera, and a 48-megapixel Quad PD telephoto camera with 30x Super Res. For selfies and video chat, it has a 42-megapixel dual PD selfie camera with autofocus.

The Pro models support 8K video recording at 30fps. They have also received IP68 rating. Connectivity options are similar to the Pixel 9, the sensors are also similar. However, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL come with an additional temperature sensor and feature an ultra-wideband chip.

Google’s Pixel 9 Pro has a 4,700mAh battery, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL gets a slightly larger 5,060mAh battery. Both phones support 45W wired fast charging and wireless charging via Qi charger.

The Pixel 9 Pro measures 152.8×72.0x8.5 mm and weighs 199 grams. The Pixel 9 Pro XL, on the other hand, measures 162.8×76.6×8.5 mm and weighs 221 grams.
